After transferring from the airport to your hotel, the rest of the day is free at leisure for you to explore.
Enjoy a tour of the Old Town, also known as Gamla Stan. Stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets dotted with historic buildings from the 16thcentury. Feel the awe as you visit the Royal Palace, which was first built in 1754 and remains in excellent condition. You will visit the Great Square where you will find the old Stock Exchange, the famous Nobel Museum and the Swedish Academy. And of course, no walk through Gamla Stan would be complete without visiting Stockholm’s mother church, the Church of St. Nicholas.
This morning is free at leisure. If you love museums, you may want to visit Fotografiska Museum or Moderna Museum. Dating from the1906 and built in Art Nouveau style, Fotografiska Museum showcases contemporary photography works; whereas the Moderna Museum features masterpieces of modern and contemporary arts.
Alternatively, you may wish to learn more about Sweden’s furniture and interior design shops. In Sweden, much of its design products focus on sustainability. Some shops you can consider visiting are Svenskt Tenn Shop, Carl Malmsten, Designtorget and Nordiska Galleriet.
Thereafter, let us whisk you to the airport for your flight to Kiruna at the Arctic Circle. During your stay in Kiruna, you will be accommodated at ICEHOTEL, hand-sculpted from the massive ice blocks harvested from the meandering Torne River. This morning, get acquainted with the adorable resident dogs as you embark on a husky safari through the trails of frozen woods.Thereafter, return to the hotel to enjoy the hotel facilities and admire the sculptures. In the evening, embark on a snowmobile adventure across the white hilly landscapes and ice-covered lakes. If the Lady Luck is on your side, we might even spot the Northern Lights!
Today, we will transfer you by coach to Arctic Bath. Along the way, you will enjoy a Sami experience with Lars Eriksson. Lars’ family has lived in the remote Flakaberg region as a Sami for seven generations. Get close to Lars’ reindeers as you listen to insightful stories about his native lifestyle and culture.
Staying at the Arctic Bath is its own experience!
