This island-hopping tour will take in the very best of the Faroe Islands’ eye-popping scenery, hearty cuisine and first-rate local hospitality. Wander the capital’s cobblestone alleys, learn of the islands’ surprisingly rich history in its flagship museum, and be wowed by the freshness of the daily catch – particularly Faroese salmon. Our winding route north will link dozens of charming villages and certainly no shortage of views to leave you breathless, from scenic Saksun and its gorgeous lagoon to tiny Gásadalur and its majestic falls. More adventures await at the striking offshore spire of Drangarnir and the sheer rock walls of Trælanípa, Cape Enniberg and Hvíthamar, each reached by short but incredible hikes.
This journey outline is by no means fixed. As the traveller takes centre stage in our planning – from the type of lodging to daily activities – your journey will be crafted to suit you.
Upon arrival, you will be met by our team and enjoy a private transfer to your accommodation. You will start with visiting the Vestmanna cliffs, via a 2 hours sightseeing boat ride. The sensation sailing close to these cliffs, towering hundreds of meters up in the air. And when weather allows, the captain drives the boat through the narrow lava caves in the cliffs, that were formed 50 million years ago.
After the sailing adventure, drive to the capital Tórshavn where you check in at the hotel.
Mykines day tour, get to Mykines island from the ferry port in Sørvágur. 45 min drive from Tórshavn. Out in Mykines enjoy some spectacular scenery. There is a little hiking involved. In late may, it is very likely that there will be thousands of puffins, and you can get quite close to them. Enjoy a packed lunch on a suitable spot for the day.
Visit all the must-see sights on Streymoy and Eysturoy on our most popular daytour. We visit the historical village Kirkjubøður, the beautiful village Saksun, Faroe Surfers paradise Tørnuvík, the stunning village Gjógv before we take the spectacular subsea tunnel back to Tórshavn.
Visit this hidden gem on the southern island, offering scenery like no other. Explore the island from the north to the south. Relax on a two hours ferry ride back.
Embark on a drive to the village furthest up north Viðareiði and then work your way back again, visiting the villages along the way. If the weather allows, take the short walk to mountain Klakkur, where you can enjoy the beautiful view overlooking the second biggest town of the Faroe Islands, Klaksvík.
On this daytour visit the popular Gásadalur, and see the famous waterfall Múlafossur. Visit the beautiful and cozy village Bøður and walk out to Trælanípan where you can see the optical illusion of the lake.
